The trial of the Krugersdorp killers continues. The trial of the so-called Krugersdorp killers enters its third day on Thursday. The highlight of the day will be the cross-examination of Le Roux Steyn, the son of Marinda Steyn who is currently serving 11 life sentences which amounts to 115 years.
So far, the South Gauteng High Court has heard of the chilling details of how the group, Marinda, Le Roux, Cecilia Steyn, Zak Valentine and Marcel Steyn, went on a four-year killing spree in Krugersdorp, spanning from 2012 until 2016.
Le Roux turns state and reveals haunting details of Krugersdorp killers killing spree. Le Roux is currently serving a 25-year jail sentence after he entered into a plea deal that would see him testify against his family.
On Thursday, the courts will hear about how Cecilia was allegedly driven by revenge and managed to manipilate the group into committing some of the most heinous crimes on members of the Overcomers Through Christ (OTC) movement.
The string of murders that occurred in the period between 2012 and 2016 put Le Roux at the centre of uncovering the inner workings of the group and what exactly drove them to slaughter 11 victims.

According to a News24 report
The court previously heard that Cecilia had a fallout with Overcomers Through Christ (OTC) leader Ria Grunewald and as a result, she formed her own ministry, Chosen by God. The ministry’s main purpose was to avenge Grunewald.
On Wednesday, Le Roux testified that Cecilia was bent on revenge against Grunewald after they had a fallout, but this elevated into an organised crime syndicate in pursuit of funds for the Electus Per Deus ministry.
Defence to cross-examine Le Roux
According to Le Roux’s testimony on day two of the trial, he, Valentine and Marinda were the killers who worked under the instruction of Cecilia.
Marcel and John Barnard were always tasked with securing the money from their victims’ bank accounts. The defence will want to establish the holes in Le Roux’s testimony and discredit it using the plea deal he entered into.
Cecelia, Valentine, and Marcel have pled not guilty to 32 charges related to murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, fraud and intimidation.
